I have a dual masters degree in Elementary Education and Specialist Teacher of Reading from Lesley University. I have been teaching in a variety of school settings for the past four years. Currently, I am providing reading instruction at a school dedicated to providing intervention services for struggling students.
I have experience with many literacy strategies and programs such as Fundations, Guided Reading, and Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI). I also have experience with a variety of formal and informal assessments which allow me to target specific areas of need. In addition, I have a Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement; this is helpful when adapting lessons to target English Language Learners.
My approach is interactive and individualized; I create literacy activities that focus on the academic goals of each student while incorporating their interests to increase motivation.
